Back in May we had a post on “Who are you?”. It was quite interesting to see where people came from. Since then our community has grown tremendously and I think it could be great fun - and valuable for everyone - to do the same exercise again…..:-)

So, Who are you?

Hi - I’m Alex, a humanist, globalist, technologist and business model designer (http://www.BusinessModelDesign.com ). I’ve been interested in the intersection of design and business for quite some time now and particularly focus on business model design. I come from academia but have drifted towards practice. Under crafting business models I understand the art of designing the building blocks of a business model to fit and reinforce each other in order to generate sustainable revenue streams. Besides consulting for businesses I currently work on the implementation of a business model of a global nonprofit organization I co-founded (http://www.aidscompetence.org ). I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand and regularly blog on business model design (http://business-model-design.blogspot.com ).

I am Peter Boersma, a user experience (UX) consultant based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I recently helped kickstart a small-but-growing UX collective called User Intelligence. We supply design teams with UX services ranging from user research, user-centered design and usability evaluations, as well as provide business managers with UX strategy and process assistance.
I subscribe to 125 RSS feeds, 7 of which are in the folder “Design Management”, and cph127 is one of those.
Keep up the good word/work!

I am David Crow. I have been trying to kick-start the collaboration between development, business and UX communities in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Much of what we think of as innovation is the creative tension between differing viewpoints. We are building a local community to find these different viewpoints. CPH127 is a great starting point and came recommended by friends Jess McMullin http://bplusd.org/ and Steve Portigal http://portigal.com/ .

Dear Naina, Johan, David, Peter, Gautam, Alex, Chris, Michael and other….

We - that is the Cabincrew :-) - are happy, honoured and proud about the fact that SO many skilled people has join us in our sense-making initiative on a regular basis. We believe strongly that you are the ones who make the real difference. We all do. The creation of sense is only feasible in the dialogue and we hope for a vibrant dialogue in the future as well :-)
If you know of someone who could profit – understood as creating sense together with the rest of us – please invite him or her to our community. Different perspectives are always welcome.

Hi Gautam,

Just curious, what is “OD” as you mention in your comment?

Best,
Niti

I’m Binoy-Milton, a Technical Writer, who works alternately between Bombay and Pune. I’m interested in UX, Usability and Information Design. I’ve been on this site for about an hour, and think I’m going to be visiting more often:).

I am Arvind Lodaya, an industrial/strategic designer and also faculty at Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology (http://www.srishtiblr.org) in Bangalore, India.
Besides teaching and practice, I am undertaking a massive long-term project to contemporize and future-ready design education… for India. (You do realize that when it’s contextualised “for India”, all sorts of concerns and contradictions arise.)
I’d welcome your involvement through sharing how you make sense of (your own) education, practice and the future.

Arvind Lodaya January 9th, 2006 at 9:25 am

nearly 20 days late, Niti, but OD stands for “Organisational Development”! :-)

Arvind Lodaya January 9th, 2006 at 9:33 am

Arvind,

then I encourage you to click on “Runways” on the top bar and see if you’d be interested in continuing our discussion there on global design education - if so do let us know, I’m sure that hans henrik would be happy to invite you.

Ah, thanks - I’ve only ever heard of “OD = overdose” as in heroin and Jim Morrison et al. :)
