Any thoughts on this survey by AIGA seeking to “Define the Designer of
2015″?

I thought the questions were very intelligent and relevant, but the answers to choose from way too complex and far fetched. As if created by committee.I ended up typing my own answers in the little white box….
Still, i found the survey a great impulse to think about the future of the profession of design and its relevance for the world of tomorrow.
cheers,

Hi Erik

I think you are right - VERY. It’s not an easy task to define the designer as an one-and-only-what-ever….

I see the role of the designer as someone who is multifaceted, different kind of skills, delivering into a bunch of different processes - the designer is maybe more a set of skills “performed” by a team rather than one single person?

All the best

Hi nice post, i have come across your site once before when searching for something so i was just wondering something. I love your theme, would it happen to be a free one i can download, or is it a custom one you had made? In a few weeks i will be launching my own site, i’m not great with designs but i really like the style of your site so it would be cool if i could find (or pay for) something with a similar look. :) Thanks!

Hey Charles - everything is “home-made” :-)

There are lots and lots og themes out there - try to search for wordpress themes or templates.

Will the term “designer” exist in 2015 or merely as a yesterday’s job title?

Hi Jesper - I agree that “design” as we understand the term in Denmark will be quite different in 2015. I experience almost everyday that it is TOO limiting…
